What is a cast-in compression connector?
A cast-in compression connector is a pipe to manhole connector that is cast directly into the precast structure, requiring no coring and producing no residual waste. The seal is made by compression of the connector between the outside circumference of the pipe and the opening in the structure, and the connector is the only component that affects the seal.

Choosing and ordering
Frequently asked questions about compression connectors
What is the most common ordering mistake?
Ordering by the pipe's stated size instead of its actual outside diameter. The connector seals against the outside of the pipe, so the O.D. and the pipe manufacturer determine the right part.
Can I order the connector and the mandrel together?
Yes, and you should. Connectors and mandrels are matched by part number on the dimensional data sheet, so ordering them together confirms they pair correctly.
What is the most skipped step?
The post-pour concentricity check. A structure that measures round at the mandrel can still shift during the pour, and the only way to know is to measure at 12 and 6 and at 3 and 9 after stripping.
Should the mandrel or the connector be oiled?
The outside of the mandrel only, never the connector.
What if a measurement is out of tolerance?
Call us before the structure ships. Depending on the dimension there are options, and catching it at the plant is always cheaper than catching it in the ground.
